DTEF - update on changes
Posted on Tuesday 4 November 2025
The change is designed to focus on capacity and strategic impact across these essential services, reflecting the increasing scale and strategic importance of each function. The previous role of Director of DTEF will not be replaced.
The three new Directorates, along with their primary responsibilities, are:
-
Directorate of IT Services; led by Tyrrell Basson - responsible for providing the University community with secure, reliable, and resilient technology services. This includes facilitating groundbreaking research and overseeing strategic digital initiatives.
-
Directorate of Facilities Management & Campus Services; led by Lisa Woods - responsible for the delivery of key FM services, student accommodation and campus-wide commercial activities.
-
Directorate of Estates; led by Roger Ward - responsible for the ownership and development of the campus, managing and maintaining our physical presence.
All teams will essentially continue business as usual, there will be no alteration to existing roles, and the Directors will continue to report directly to Nigel Alcock as Chief Financial Operating Officer.
This separation is timed with the physical co-location of all three Directorates into the premises at 1 Innovation Close, with moves starting from Monday 3 November 2025.
