Iwona Machoczek is visiting the department for a month and working in SATSU. She is giving a talk on Thursday 17th November at 1.15pm in W/231D. Her title is "Cord Blood - An Analysis of the Social Issues During the Extraction, Conservation and Practice" .

Kimberly Jamie has been invited to act as an expert contributor to a Wellcome Trust-funded theatre project exploring the issues and debates raised by pharmacogenetic technology as part of Y Touring’s Theatre of Debate programme.

Researchers from the University of York are hoping to create a better understanding of engineering by exploring its role in sound recording. Their starting point will be asking people working in the audio industry if they consider themselves to be technical engineers or artists - or something else entirely.

We have 2 ESRC Scholarships to award as part of the Sociology cluster of training pathways within the White Rose Doctoral Training Centre, a major new collaboration between the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York. These scholarships are available on a 1+3 or a +3 basis to students from the UK/EU.
