Staff appointment

The Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof Mike Savage (currently at the Sociology Department and ESRC Centre for Socio-Cultural Change, (CRESC), University of Manchester) to a new Chair in Sociology from 1 Oct 2010.
Mike will continue to work on his highly influential research on cultural class analysis; space and urban studies; and the history of social science methods.
Mike is keen to attract high quality PhD students to join him at York to work on topics of mutual interest. Please direct any inquiries to ast2@york.ac.uk in the first instance.
