Event details
The late medieval booklets of the 'Trinity Anthologies' (Cambridge, Trinity College, MSS R.3.19, R.3.21), collections of shorter works by Chaucer, Lydgate and others, were made and read by several producers and users who all shared someone in common: William Caxton. We know very little about the main scribe of the booklets, however, and so the purpose of this paper will be to discuss a newly identified manuscript by the 'Trinity Anthologies Scribe', one that contributes to our knowledge of the scribe's context. It provides an opportunity to reconsider the connections between the producers of the Trinity booklets and the early printed book trade, including the tangential association with Caxton.
