This event is part of the project / event series「対話者」としての自分を振り返る ‘Reflection of self in dialogue’, developed and organised by the LFA Japanese Team’s Megumi Bailey and Yumi Nixon (Dept. Language and Linguistic Science) and Nayuta Brand (Japanese freelance teacher in Switzerland). The project has been awarded a grant from The Japan Foundation, London.

Tertulia de Literatura y Cine: Charla con Mónica López Baltodano
On Thursday 2 December 2021, Mónica López Baltodano (Nicaraguan human rights and environmental lawyer and Director of the human rights NGO Popol Na) will be presenting on 'Nicaragua hoy, desde la perspectiva de una ambientalista y defensora de Derechos Humanos’. The talk will be in Spanish and it will focus on Nicaragua’s environment and human rights issues.

On Wednesday 1st December 2021, Charlotte Moore (Concordia University) will be presenting on "Variable language, adaptable learners: evidence that language acquisition is robust to noise at two timescales". The talk focuses on how infants deal with wordform variability in early word learning.

CPD Japanese Language: OJAEアセスメント法に基き実践体験 Practical experience in assessments based on the OJAE method
This event is part of the project / event series ‘How can teachers in Japanese language education help learners to develop their communication competence?’ initially developed and led by Megumi Bailey (Dept Language and Linguistic Science), now a full LFA Japanese Team joint-venture with the addition of Dr Yumi Nixon (Dept. Language and Linguistic Science) as a co-organiser. The project has been awarded a grant from the Japan Foundation, London.

Fatih Akin's Solino (Germany 2002)
The event A screening of Fatih Akin's Solino (2002) is a student project as part of the module “Contemporary German Speaking Film” (Dept. of Language and Linguistic Science). In the opening talk, students will contextualise the film, both from a historical perspective and where the film fits with the director’s other works, and there will be the opportunity to ask questions afterwards.
