Event details

This event is funded by the Centre for Modern Studies, with support from the Humanities Research Centre, Department of Language and Linguistics, and School of Arts and Creative Technologies at the University of York. We will bring together practitioners, students, participants, and members of charitable organisations to explore creative working with refugees and asylum seekers.

Participants will be able to hear more about the work of Common Ground, take part in a music workshop (no experience needed, and small handheld percussion instruments will be provided), before we then engage in discussion of workshop processes and consider how we might build a network and develop further projects and research in this area. The event is in the Treehouse at the Humanities Research Centre, Berrick Saul Building at the University of York and also online via Zoom.

Please note that we plan to audio-record the workshop and also take some photographs as a record of the event - we'd very much appreciate it if attendees could complete the short media consent form which is linked to the booking form. If you have any questions about the event, please let me know, we are happy to help!
