There are some wonderful resources available via the multi-media History of Art Research Portal which will allow you to explore the exhibition with informative notes on each art work, view scrimshaw in 3D and listen to a whaling soundscape. You can also view selections from the Hull Maritime Museum Whaling Collection and read position papers from the one-day international and interdisciplinary symposium which considered key images and objects from the exhibition and the Hull collections.
The Turner and the Whale exhibition ran from 7 October 2017 to 7 January 2018 and was co-curated by Professor Jason Edwards and his PhD student Martha Cattell, in partnership with Tate and Hull Museums. Read more about the exhibition.
