Call for Papers- Stained Glass Research School Symposium

Proposals are invited for papers presenting research into any aspects of stained glass design and creation from the development of iconographic and structural design, to production methods and craftsmanship. Please send proposals for 20 minute papers (no more than 300 words, including title and name of corresponding author) to Katie Harrison (keh504@york.ac.uk) and Oliver Fearon (of509@york.ac.uk) by Sunday 15th May. This year’s Stained Glass Research School PhD Symposium will open on Thursday 26th May with a keynote paper given by Dr. Rachel Koopmans, York University, Toronto, on a thirteenth-century miracle window at Canterbury Cathedral. This will be followed by postgraduate papers on stained glass from a range of periods. Lunch, light refreshments and a wine reception are included. On Friday 27th May, a coach tour will visit stained glass ranging in date from the medieval to the modern, at Ripon Cathedral and the parish churches at Kirby Wiske, Kirklington, East Rounton and Nun Monkton.
