From Here to Modernity: in conversation with 'the modernist' magazine

Tuesday 15 February 2022, 6.00PM

Jack Hale and Eddy Rhead, editors, are coming to talk to the department about the modernist magazine, published since 2011, which seeks to provide acover of the modernist magazine, black and white photo of woman in front of a high-rise building rigorous, architecturally-educated defence to a persistent widespread prejudice towards modernist architecture. It's a topical event while our university comes to terms with its recently listed campus.

The Manchester Modernist Society was founded in 2009 as a creative community, its social wing is its ‘Chapters’ all organising tours, lectures and gatherings. There are currently Chapters in Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Birmingham Leeds and Swansea.  The Modernist Society is dedicated to celebrating and engaging people with twentieth century architecture and design, through publishing, events, exhibitions and creative collaborations.

This is organised as part of the “York C20” project. It is open to all!
