The Albukhary Foundation gallery of the Islamic World

The Albukhary Foundation Gallery of the Islamic World, will be opened to the public on 18 October this year. The new gallery of the museum displays a comprehensive presentation of the Islamic world through art and material culture. In this talk, Dr Ladan Akbarnia, will discuss the new displays, the collection, and the vision for the new gallery.

Dr Ladan Akbarnia is assistant keeper, at the British Museum, for Islamic Collections, Iran, Central Asia and India. She completed her studies in archaeology, architecture, and art history at Harvard University. Her most recent publication is The Islamic World: A History in Objects (Oct, 2018).

This event is hosted by the Islamic Art Circle.  Admission is free but booking is essential- book your tickets here.
