English Department Excels in Postgraduate Research Experience Survey

The Department received very positive feedback from the latest Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES).

This bi-annual survey elicits views from postgraduate research students across the whole UK higher education sector about their learning and supervision experience.

English and Related Literature at York had an above average overall satisfaction rate of 91% (compared to an institutional average of 85.9%). Particularly high scores of 95% related to supervision, subject knowledge and research support; development of skills in critical analysis; and the provision of a good seminar programme.
