The JCR (Junior Common Room) is a great space for students to socialise. There's lots of things to do in the room, practice your dates, improve your pool skills, or just sit and relax and meet your friends here.
This room can be booked for small personal events by Goodricke Members only, see below.
The Clarbour Room can be used by all staff and students in Goodricke College, which is governed by the College Council. This room was renamed to honour the dedication and commitment shown by Dr Jane Clarbour over the many years she has been associated with Goodricke. Jane left the post of Head of College in July, 2015 after 11 years at the helm.
Like the Junior Common Room, the Clarbour Room has an enviable list of facilities at members' disposal, and it is an excellent meeting point for students and staff and a place to relax and unwind. The College itself tends to hold regular events in this room, e.g. food events. Unlike the JCR this room cannot be booked in advance.
The networked printer is available in the nucleus for you to use. You can set work to print from elsewhere (holding it in 'store') and when you reach nucleus, you can retrieve your work.
Suggestions to improve the facilities in the Clarbour Room can be emailed to the College Adminstrator, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Well-Being Hub (GNU/012) is offered to Goodricke Students as a place to unwind and relax. This room is used by the College Tutors to host tutor-drop in sessions. It is also used by the Well-Being Officer of the JCRC to host mindfulness sessions. There are self-help guides, hints and tips on mindfulness, puzzles, colouring, origami.
The laundrette can be found in Goodricke Nucleus and contains washing machines and dryers, along with vending machines. You will need your key card to access to this room, which is available 24 hours/7 days per week.
Mylaundryview is an online system which can check any connected laundry rooms on campus. Use this to view:
There are two networked computers located in the Clarbour Room (GNU/009) and one in the Quiet Study Room (GNU/005a)
We have one publicly-accessible networked printer in the Goodricke Nucleus
There are also three York Print Plus printers in the Law and Management building and two in the Ron Cooke Hub.
The York Print Plus website gives more details of locations.
Members of Goodricke College can book the JCR for events.
The College Administrator will confirm your booking.
Suggestions to improve the facilities in both the JCR and the Clarbour room can be emailed to the College Adminstrator, email: email@example.com
