Explore our campus

If you're thinking of applying for one of our undergraduate courses, you may find it helpful to attend one of our visit days. Staff and current students will be on hand to offer information and answer questions about admissions, courses and student life.

You can visit the Department, attend talks about studying biology at York, obtain information about our courses, and explore the teaching and research facilities. You'll also be able to find out more about the University in general, explore our campus and visit student accommodation. Members of your family are welcome to come with you and join in the events.

Open Days usually run in June and September with other visit days running throughout the year.

Individual visits

If you're unable to come to an Open Day, we are able to organise individual visits to the Department. If you'd like to arrange a visit, please contact us and suggest a couple of days when you're available to visit us.

Post-offer visit days

Once you've received an offer, we'll invite you to attend one of our departmental visit days, which take place between January and April. We strongly recommend that you attend one of these, especially if you have not visited us on a pre-application Open Day. If you cannot come on the days we offer, we'll do our best to arrange for you to visit on an alternative occasion.

During our visit days, you'll have the opportunity to see the Department and its facilities, meet staff and current students, and look around the campus, including a visit to student accommodation. You'll have plenty of chances to ask any questions about the course and the Department, and about what it is like to be a student at York.
