Grawemeyer Award winning composer and University of York alumnus Christian Mason discusses inspiration, influence and the presence of the past in works including his quintet after Schubert, Shadowy Fish, receiving its UK premiere in this evening's concert. He will also delve into his collaboration with the writer Paul Griffiths, in partnership with whom Christian developed the prizewinning Invisible Threads, a performance installation that balances space and sonic geography.
