MA in Sociology by Research

In addition to the Department's taught course route, it is also possible for students to undertake their MA in Sociology by Research Dissertation. Students taking this route would be expected to undertake a rigorous piece of independent research working closely with their supervisor.

MPhil and PhD in Sociology

MPhil and PhD in Language and Communication

The PhD in Language and Communication is an interdisciplinary programme involving Education, Language and Linguistic Science, Psychology and Sociology. It focuses on investigating language as it is used in the real world and the processes which underpin it. 

PhD Sociology: Bioscience and Society

This degree enables you to study within the  (SATSU) which is an internationally recognised social science research centre exploring the dynamics, practices, and possibilities of contemporary science and technology.
