The Music Department offers a number of scholarships, awards and work opportunities for postgraduate students. However, applicants are advised to investigate as wide a range of funding sources as possible, and are encouraged to pursue external funding sources before and during their postgraduate studies.
Please note that you must have been offered a place on one of our postgraduate courses to be eligible to apply for any of the awards listed.
For more information about postgraduate funding, contact Catherine Duncan.
The Department has three AHRC awards for doctoral students beginning their studies in October 2013. The awards cover full fees and maintenance for a three-year period and are available to any UK student (EC students may apply for a fees only award) who has been offered a place to undertake PhD research in the Department.
The closing date for AHRC applications is 1 February 2013.
University scholarships are available to applicants who pay tuition fees at the overseas rate – the deadline for applying for these scholarships is the 30 April 2013.
The Department offers many scholarships and awards available to postgraduate music students. Find descriptions and application information.
