Our postgraduate programmes

We are one of the leading centres in the UK for teaching and research in theoretical and empirical linguistics. Our major specialisms are in theoretical syntax and semantics, phonetics and phonology, language acquisition, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics and forensic speech science.

We offer seven taught masters programmes, each of 12 months' duration. Six of these lead to an MA degree and one to an MSc degree. We also offer research programmes leading to MA (by research), MPhil and PhD degrees.
