How to connect
Working on campus
When on campus, you can connect to the network in a number of ways:
- IT classrooms & study areas
- Staff offices:
- Supported connection (Windows 7 & XP)
- Unsupported connection
(Windows, Mac, Unix)- Network Access Service
Study bedroom network- Wireless (Access eduroam across campus)
- Digital Workspace Service (DWS)
Connect to a virtual desktop. Available to students using the thin clients in Harry Fairhurst, and staff from any machine.
Working off campus
Connect to York facilities when you're away from the University:
- Virtual Private Network (VPN)
- Digital Workspace Service (DWS)

Connecting using a mobile device
You can connect to the wireless, filestore, email etc from your phone, tablet or laptop.
