Support for international students

We are a team of International Student Support Advisers, based in the Student Hub in Sally Baldwin D Block - we can help with any questions or issues that affect you as an international student at York. We can also help you find information and support that's available to all students.

Whether you need airport collection, visa advice, support around living in York, help to build your community and make the most of new opportunities, or information about finding work and what happens when you complete your studies, we are here for you.

We provide support and advice on our webpages, by email, Zoom calls, live chat and in-person (by appointment) on subjects including:

Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a complete beginner, our caller will help you jump into the traditional group dances for a lively, social experience you won't want to miss. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet new friends, grab some treats, and dance the night away!

Celebrate the arrival of spring! This week’s International Student Social embraces the new season with a relaxed evening inspired by significant springtime celebrations across Persian and Central Asian cultures

As usual, the Social is open to everyone and will feature music, games, and plenty of opportunities to connect with others while enjoying a selection of cultural food and drinks.

Trip to Whitby | International & Postgraduate Students

Postgrads and International Students! Visit the Yorkshire seaside town of Whitby, famous for its harbour, Abbey, and fish & chips. Whitby is the Jewel of the Yorkshire Coast, famous for dramatic clifftops, cobbled streets, and beautiful Abbey.

Tickets £10 at the online store

This ticket covers return coach travel between the University and Whitby. We depart from the University Library bus stop at 8am and returns to campus by 5.30pm. A staff member will check your details before boarding and provide a reminder of the time for the return. IMPORTANT: It is your responsibility to arrive on time for both departures. The coach will leave promptly and cannot wait for late arrivals. Should you miss the return coach, you are responsible for arranging and funding your own transport back to York. No refunds will be issued.
