Simon graduated from the University of Warwick in Industrial Economics in 1998. Since then he has worked for East Riding of Yorkshire Council. Simon became the Unit Finance Assistant in September 2004 and is responsible for:

• the administration of the Unit's general finances and research grants.
• the physical aspects of the building
• computing support to SPRU
• IT procurement and licencing
