Important information for applicants

  • Take note of any application deadline listed for each studentship. If there is no deadline stated, then please apply as soon as possible.
  • Make sure you are eligible to undertake a PhD at the University of York and eligible for the studentship. If you are a non-EU overseas applicant you may not be eligible, or you may need to pay the difference between home/EU fee rates and overseas fee rates. We require a minimum IELTS score of 7.0.

  • On your application form, be sure to name the studentship you are applying for, including the project title and supervisor. Where asked to outline your proposed research, please describe how you might approach the research project and outline your relevant experience and training.
