Photography

The images you choose for your publications or website should be in line with your department’s key messages and should reinforce the way that you want to be perceived by the outside world.

  • Always use professional quality, full colour photographs
  • Use a consistent style throughout.
  • Keep an ethnic diversity and gender balance when choosing student/teaching shots.
  • One high quality image has more impact than several low-quality pictures.
  • Avoid cartoons and Clip Art.

There is a selection of images for use in presentations and publications available to download at the online image library.

The Communications Office stocks a wide range of images in its digital image library which it can supply for your departmental web pages or marketing material. There is no charge for using these images for University business.

The Communications Office can also organise photoshoots specifically for your department.
