Public lectures

Lecture theatre (c) recrudescent

Every term we organise a number of public lectures on a wide variety of topics. Organising, or being involved in, a series of public lectures may help to profile the research taking place in your department, or be a platform for a distinguished visitor to the department.

How to get involved

If you would like to discuss the possibility of running a public lecture, or public lectures series yourself, then please get in touch to discuss this. The Public Lectures Committee oversees the corporate lectures, and has funds to support the organisation of these. Funds are also available for colleges, departments and student societies to support them in inviting distinguished visitors to the University.

If you are organising a departmental, or other, lecture we strongly recommend that you contact us for advice on its organisation and publicity.

If you expect a large audience for your lecture because of the speaker or the topic, we strongly recommend that the event is ticketed.
