Duncan Bruce awarded Royal Society of Chemistry Tilden Prize

Professor Duncan Bruce has been awarded a Tilden Prize of the Royal Society of Chemistry in recognition of his mastery of synthetic and organisational principles for the creation of materials with collective properties, including transition metal containing liquid crystals, metallosurfactants and halogen bonded liquid crystals.
The Tilden Prize was founded in
1939 to commemorate Sir William Augustus Tilden, President of the Royal Society
of Chemistry from 1903 to 1905. Sir William was a professor at the Royal College of Science for over thirty
years; from 1894 until his death in 1926.
The Prize is a mid-career award and three are awarded
annually. The criteria are:
