As part of a programme to revise and reorganise our undergraduate practical course, the university has recently committed an investment of £70,000. This funding will be used to install computer hardware in our teaching laboratories, so that web-based e-learning tools can be used to enhance the student experience of learning practical chemistry. In the laboratory, our students will be able to access various on-line resources including videos, flash-based simulations and virtual instruments on experimental techniques, that we have developed within the department, and interactive whiteboards will be available for briefing and debriefing sessions.
