The Department of Chemistry at the University of York is keen to recruit both international staff and international students. We welcome applications from students of all nationalities to our Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. Currently we have students studying with us from all over the UK and Europe, as well as China, USA, India, Russia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Brunei, Tanzania, Thailand, Nigeria and Turkey. The department has an international profile in its staff as well as in the student body. At present there are 46 non-UK undergraduates and 53 non-UK postgraduates.
The Department runs a society, Chemical InterActions, for overseas staff and students and welcome sessions for International undergraduate students are held each year.
York Chemistry Overseas Research Scholarship (YCORS)
The Department of Chemistry is pleased to announce the launch of a new scholarship for postgraduate overseas applicants from outside the EU applying for MSc by Reserach, MPhil or PhD. The scholarship offers up to £4000 per year towards fees, and is awarded on academic merit. Interested applicants should contact their proposed supervisor to discuss a possible nomination for the award by the supervisor.
