Course: BSc Economics and Finance 2020

Faz is a Vertical Launch Grant Manager for the UK Space Agency, working on the first-ever launches of small satellites into space from British soil. Previously, he spent 2 years in Dublin as a Program Manager for Meta's risk management and intelligence team, specialising in the intersection of product, process, and policy-related issues. During his tenure at Meta, he was responsible for developing the company's social media contingency plans for high-risk events such as the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Queen Elizabeth II's death, and King Charles' Coronation.

Faz aspires to utilise his public and private sector experience blend to enhance the University's alumni engagement strategy. Reminiscing his time at the University, Faz hopes to spread the same student energy perpetuated on campus across the alumni base to further the vibrant York community. A key reason for his participation is the opportunity to share his expertise and guidance on evolving social media and generational trends - ensuring the University is equipped to support the increasingly diverse alumni base and evolving student profiles.

Faz hopes to reignite his connection with the York community - giving back to a place that provided him with a wealth of opportunity. He graduated from the University of York in 2020 with a Bachelors in Economics and Finance. In his spare time, he mentors sixth-form and undergraduate students as part of the Social Mobility Foundation and is an avid racquet-sports player.
