International Social: Crafts and Connections!

Come along to Anne Lister to mix, relax, play some games and eat some snacks!

Our first International Student Social on Campus East, this is an opportunity for international students (and home students!) to get together, meet new people (or connect with existing friends), do a bit of crafting and getting involved in a few fun games.

We’ll have speed friending, human bingo and bracelet making, with prizes up for grabs in the bingo. Grab some snacks and drinks, make a bracelet, and see who you meet along the way!

Autumn Trip to Whitby

Postgrads and International Students! Visit the Yorkshire seaside town of Whitby, famous for its harbour, Abbey, and fish & chips. The Jewel of the Yorkshire Coast, Whitby is famous for dramatic clifftops, cobbled streets, and beautiful Abbey.

Tickets £11.50 at the online store

The ticket covers return coach travel between the University and Whitby. We depart from the Student Centre on Newton Way at 8am and return to campus by 5pm. A staff member will check your details before boarding and remind you of the time for the return. IMPORTANT: It is your responsibility to arrive on time for both departures. The coach will leave promptly and cannot wait for late arrivals. Should you miss the return coach, you are responsible for arranging and funding your own transport back to York. No refunds will be issued.

International Halloween Social

Come along for a cosy night of pumpkin carving and Halloween Decoration making.

We will bring the traditional Halloween sweets and everything you need to carve the spookiest pumpkins! All you need to do is register your interest via the form so we can make sure we have enough pumpkins for everyone.

We recommend wearing suitable clothes, as pumpkin carving may stain some fabrics.

Día de los Muertos - Day of the Dead Party!

Join us for a fun evening celebrating Día de los Muertos, with a band performing live Latin music, dancing, snacks and plenty of colourful Day of the Dead vibes! This event is completely FREE!

We’ll have a live band playing throughout the evening, with plenty of space to dance, socialise and enjoy the atmosphere. There’ll also be snacks and face painting to get you into the spirit of the celebration.

Dressing up is strongly encouraged! Go all out with your Día de los Muertos-inspired face paint, colourful outfits or whatever you fancy. Bring your own drinks and come along for a fun, relaxed evening with friends and fellow students.
