Crime Statistics

The data below relates to incidents of a criminal nature reported as having occurred on campus or University owned residences off campus

Our aim is to reduce crime by 5% year on year.

We use the 'Traffic Light' system to track our performance, where green indicates a decrease; amber indicates a static figure and red shows an increase.
This then enables us to target our resource to reduce the 'Red' areas. The only exception to this is the Attempt to Commit figure
This is where someone has attempted to commit an ofence but was prevented from doing so and thus is an indicator of us doing our job well and preventing crime.

Of particular note is the fact that crimes of violence are down, as well as burglary and theft of cycles.
