Resources for Change Advocates

As a Change Advocate, you'll share messages and gather insights among your communities, helping all of us get ready for the new ways of working that the transformation will bring about.

You'll support each other, your team and your wider community as part of your day-to-day role. We've kept the core monthly activity to a minimum to make sure you have the headspace to take up the opportunity, and opt into any extra coaching – having candid conversations, leading with empathy, and more – that you'd find valuable for your career.

Deciding to become a Change Advocate

In the briefing pack below, you'll find more about the responsibilities of being a Change Advocate. Don't worry if there are gaps in your skills – we'll support you through a range of development opportunities.

Have a conversation with your line manager to discuss how you can support your team. When you're both happy, it's quick and easy to nominate yourself. We'll ask for a few contact details and current skills, and why you want to get involved. There are no wrong answers; it's just so we can tailor any training.

What you'll be doing

You'll be invited to a half-day intro session to learn more about the transformation, and your part in it. From there, the core involvement will take around 90 minutes a month, where we come together to discuss the latest news and views, and have a focused development session.

That'll guide how you talk about the transformation within your own communities – whether that's through short slots on team meetings, or those five-minute encounters while the kettle boils.
