Become a student content creator

Get paid and gain work experience that's flexible with your studies!

Do you enjoy creating TikToks, Instagram Reels, making YouTube videos or writing? You're in the right place!

We're looking for student content creators to share their York stories and student experiences!

You’ll be working with the University’s marketing team, creating fun, relatable content for our official channels:

Why not have a look at some of the content created in the past? ☝️

From vlogs and blogs to TikToks and Reels, there will be other paid opportunities such as joining photoshoots, contributing quotes for the prospectus and featuring on podcasts!

What's involved?

If selected as a Student Content Creator, you’ll be emailed different content briefs and opportunities throughout the year. You can then put your name and ideas forward for the ones that interest you, and fit in with your schedule!

What's in it for you?

This is a paid opportunity (£13.09 per hour plus holiday pay) where you’ll:

  • Build professional experience in content creation.
  • Boost your CV with real digital/written media work.
  • Share your unique perspective with thousands of viewers and readers.
  • Meet other student content creators and collaborate on projects.
  • Re-experience York through a fresh lens. By sharing your journey with those yet to live it, you help them discover York while rediscovering York yourself.

Key skills and attributes:

  • Passionate about helping future students by sharing your York stories.
  • Creative and full of fresh ideas.
  • Up to date with social media trends (not essential for bloggers) and what students want to know.
  • Skilled at writing, taking photos or video content (bonus if you can do all 3!).
  • Confident with video editing (not essential for bloggers and photographers).
  • Reliable and great at meeting deadlines.
  • Excited to try new things, collaborate and test creative ideas.
