Summer accommodation
If you need accommodation over the summer period, you can apply for a room in our designated summer accommodation.
As current accommodation contracts cannot be extended during the summer period due to conferences and essential maintenance works, students wishing to remain on campus will need to apply separately.
Please note that students whose 2025/26 courses have ended, or whose 2026/27 courses have not yet commenced, are not eligible for summer accommodation. This includes students who have completed their studies and are awaiting graduation.
Applications
Summer accommodation will be located in Halifax College in self-catered rooms with shared bathroom facilities. Rooms are priced at £25.01 per night, with a minimum stay of seven nights.
We aim to support all students who apply; however, room offers are subject to availability, and applications may close early depending on demand.
Summer accommodation applications will open on 26 May 2026. We'll add the application link closer to this date.
Start dates
Summer accommodation will be available from Friday 26 June 2026.
If your current campus accommodation contract ends on 21 June (38- and 40-week lets), you may need to remain in your existing room for a few days until the first summer accommodation blocks open. If your application is successful, your official move-in date will be confirmed in your room offer.
End dates
Students with a 2026/27 campus accommodation booking
You may remain in summer accommodation until the start of your 2026/27 campus contract (for most students, this will be 13 September 2026).
If your 2026/27 campus contract begins after 13 September, we will work with you on a case-by-case basis to arrange either a short extension to your summer accommodation or an earlier move-in to your new room. Arrangements will depend on availability within the college or area to which you are moving.
Students without a 2026/27 campus accommodation booking
The latest date you can stay in summer accommodation is 6 September 2026. If your off-campus tenancy begins after this date, you will need to arrange temporary alternative accommodation in the private sector between 6 September and the start of your new tenancy.
