Current Government legislation stipulates that individuals should not be mixing with other households, including moving from living with one group of individuals to another. For this reason, we are unable to facilitate moving students from off-campus accommodation onto campus with our existing residents. This policy is likely to remain in place until this legislation is lifted.
Students requiring summer accommodation are asked to explore the possibility of extending their current off-campus lets, finding alternative off-campus accommodation, or returning home where possible.
If you're a student nurse on NHS placement, a PG Research student classed as a keyworker and requiring access to university labs, or a care leaver/estranged student, you may be exempt from this policy. Please submit your accommodation request using the following form so that we contact you directly with further information.
If your situation is an emergency and you fear you may be facing homelessness or you are unsafe in your current accommodation, please contact the Student Hub straight away on +44 (0)1904 324140 or at email@example.com. A Student Advisor will be able to discuss your situation in more detail and can refer you to Accommodation Services for emergency accommodation if appropriate.
Students on campus can apply for a booking extension by completing the following form.
Extensions will be considered on a case by case by case basis. At present we are only able to extend bookings until 3 August 2020. We will review this policy in mid-July to see if further extensions are possible, and will be in touch. In the meantime, we suggest that you try to vacate your room by the end of your let/3 August wherever possible.
Please note if we are able to grant your extension request:
Your booking will be subject to the Summer Vacation Accommodation terms and conditions (PDF , 70kb).
