Digital media technologies in academia

This workshop offers an introduction to the principles, challenges and best practices of using a variety of digital media technologies (blogging, Twitter, YouTube and related social media spaces) in research, teaching and public communication. We will critically examine online ethics, e-safety, the practicalities of engagement, and the positives and negatives of applying digital technologies in highly visible forums. This is an interactive session – please come prepared to discuss your experiences and share your questions and concerns about digital media in the academic environment.
