God, Time, and Modality: Is God a Prisoner of that Other Dimension?
It is widely agreed that God is an eternal, omnipresent, and necessary being. With respect to God’s temporality, a plethora of options have been explored; I’ll suggest that the options regarding God’s modality are interestingly complicated too. I’ll look into parallels and disanalogies, and argue for distinguishing between metaphysical necessity and theological necessity.
