Event details

Advances in science and technology help us every day, but how can we use them to understand the past? Join researchers from the University of York’s Department of Chemistry to find out what we can learn from analysing a 1,000-year-old body preserved in a bog - from what it was wearing, to its last meal. Come along and learn how analytical chemistry is used in archaeology through a series of games and demonstrations.

Meet the researchers: Martina Conti, Natta Wiriyakun, Dr Marc Dickinson, Dr Kirsty Penkman, Dr Sam Presslee, Lucy Wheeler and Chloe Bartlet, Department of Chemistry, University of York
