Following the 2026 Robert Le Page Lecture, the Department of Language and Linguistic Science will host a half-day African Linguistics Workshop on Friday 13 March 2026.

Organised by Dr Imke Driemel and Judith Ahlijah, the workshop brings together staff and postgraduate researchers to present current work on the semantics, sociolinguistics, conversation analysis and syntax of various African languages. Professor Enoch Aboh (University of Amsterdam), the 2026 Le Page speaker, will also be in attendance to engage with the research.

The event will take place in the Alcuin East Wing (AEW/106) and is open to all.
