Pathway: Taught MA History of Art‌

Why did you choose this programme/pathway to study?

My professional background before retirement was linguistic and socio-legal so I wanted to explore as wide a range of topics as possible, some familiar and some entirely new.

Why History of Art, and why York?

My work had involved analysing the world through words; I wanted to try the analysis through visuals perhaps from a different perspective. York rather chose me as it is my home town. I had taken many Lifelong Learning courses including History of Art. The variety of the course modules matched my interests.

What skills have your postgraduate studies allowed you to develop?

I have renewed and sharpened my research and IT skills as it is some time since I was last at university! I have also surprised myself with an unsuspected interest in architecture.
