Aesthetica Art Prize Lunchtime Talk

The Aesthetica Art Prize, now in its eighth year, champions the best in international contemporary art.  A selection of works from the shortlisted artists is on display at York St Mary's from Thursday to Monday 10am to 4pm until May 31st 2015.

James Boaden will deliver one of a series of talks on themes arising from the exhibition as he looks at the language of film, exploring the relationship between art and moving image, experimental film culture and visual communications.

Other speakers include war artist John Keane; Dr Sam Lackey, Curator at The Hepworth Wakefield; Artistic Director (Visual Art) Sara Perks; Matthew Hawthorn, Head of Art & Design at York St John University; Whitney Hintz, Independent Advisor and Curator of the Hiscox Collection with Jenny Alexander, Senior Curator of Art at York Art Gallery; and Marcus Lyon, shortlisted artist in this year’s Aesthetica Art Prize.

Admission is free for both the exhibition and the talks.
