British Art 1600-1735: Close Readings

Focusing on the detailed study of works of art, the conference is designed to open up new perspectives on their place within British culture. Speakers will concentrate on a particular object, or small set of objects, from the period, which will be discussed in relation to one or more of the broader strands that are being explored by the 'Court, Country, City: British Art 1660-1735' project.

Location: Clore Auditorium, Tate Britain
