As you can see from the results page, many of our students' writings feature among the placed, commended and highly commended pieces.
First-year student Grace Perry's work has won first and second places in the 17-19 category, and first-years Alexis Sturgeon and Phoebe Loach-Martin have been Highly Commended by the judges.
The 20-30 category features MA student Sophie Apps's and third-year Harry Strange's pieces; among the highly commended writings we find first-year student Sylvia-Marie Cleite, PhD student Anthony Tomkins, and third-year student Anais Wyder Pivaral.
Our most heart-felt congratulations go to our friend and colleague in the Assessments Team, Ailish Bumpus, who has been awarded first place in the 20-30 category, with her short story "Red Velvet", which has been applauded as a "cleverly constructed piece that reveals its secret in a controlled timely manner" with a "really great use of horror tropes to explore gender dynamics".
We are extremely proud of your achievements and we really hope these results will motivate you to keep on writing!
