Chemistry staff and students win YUSU teaching accolades

Posted on 10 June 2014

Four of our staff/postgraduate students received awards at the YUSU Excellence in Teaching and Supervision 2014 event.

The Department of Chemistry is proud to have won four awards at the YUSU Excellence in Teaching and Supervision Awards event on Wednesday 11 June. These awards are led by students in partnership with the University, meaning that students nominate, students decide who wins, with the help of staff, and together celebrate the exemplary work done by the amazing members of our University community.

I am very surprised by the award and thank the students for all their support.

Sindhu Krishna

The award winners are:

  • Sindhu Krishna - Demonstrator of the Year
  • Danielle Jowett - Highly commended in the category for Demonstrator of the Year
  • David Pugh - Highly commended in the category for Demonstrator of the Year
  • Paul Walton - Highly commended in the category for Inspirational Lecturer

These awards are further recognition of the high quality of teaching offered in the Department by academic staff and postgraduate demonstrators alike. Many congratulations to our four winners who were nominated by our undergraduate students.
