The 44th Nordic Health Economists’ Study Group (NHESG) meeting took place at the University of Oslo from 13–15 August 2025, hosted by the Department of Health Economics and Health Management (HELED).
The annual meeting provides a platform for health economists to present ongoing research, exchange ideas, and foster collaboration.
This year’s programme included two special sessions on Advancing Public Health and Innovation in Municipal Health and Care Services.
The conference featured a diverse programme of academic activities, featuring two members of CHE.
Professor Susan Griffin, an expert in economic evaluation and health technology assessment, delivered one of the two keynote lectures on Equality, equity and efficiency in accessing healthcare.
PhD student Neelam Kalita also attended the conference, where a chapter of her thesis on the economic impact of restricting HFSS food sales to school children in India on reducing long-term obesity-related diseases was presented. She was also a discussant in the session titled Global Evidence of the Urban–Rural Health Divide.
