CHE’s latest updates showcase a season of innovation, discussion, and opportunities in health economics.

The Spring 2026 edition of CHE's Health Economics News features the announcement that Professor Karen Bloor will become CHE’s new Head of Department from October 2026, succeeding Professor Mark Sculpher after his five-year leadership term. The issue also highlights CHE’s role in bringing together the health economics community through the Health Economists’ Study Group (HESG) Winter 2026 Meeting, hosted at York.

The newsletter explores a range of new research from CHE academics, including studies on the wider economic impact of adult social care in England, how hospital payment systems can improve quality of care, and the potential of digital and community-led approaches to expand access to mental health support in low- and middle-income countries.

Alongside research highlights, the issue features spotlights on CHE researchers and professional staff, international collaborations, and upcoming training opportunities, including specialist short courses in decision modelling, statistical methods, and distributional cost-effectiveness analysis.
