CHE celebrates Athena Swan Silver renewal at EDI Conference
Posted on Thursday 2 April 2026
Colleagues from the Centre for Health Economics (CHE) and representatives of CHE’s Equality and Diversity Action Team (EDAT), Professor Laura Bojke and Anna Payne, received CHE’s Athena Swan Silver Award during the Advance HE Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Conference 2026, held in Manchester from 25–26 March.
The award was conferred within the framework of the Athena SWAN Charter, an international framework that supports and advances gender equality in higher education and research.
The awards ceremony was part of the wider conference, which provided a space to rethink and refresh approaches to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), celebrate successes, and contribute to a collective conversation about shaping the future of EDI in higher education.
CHE’s Silver Athena Swan Award renewal highlights CHE’s continued commitment to advancing gender equality and embedding EDI principles across its research, culture and collaborations. During the awards ceremony, Laura and Anna were joined by colleagues from the University of York's Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD), Sumayya Anwer and Professor Bob Phillips, who were accepting CRD's first Silver Athena Swan Award.
These awards form part of the 22 Departmental and School awards held at the University of York, which also holds an institutional Athena Silver Award.
