Event details
Abstract:
It is important to identify the value drivers of new technologies. This is especially relevant when assessing new technologies that impact health pathways and resources. Building health economic models that evaluate these technologies is challenging and requires researchers to account for variability in the diagnostic pathway and uncertain data or lack of evidence and prioritise key components of complex value propositions. Comparisons can require consideration of changes to the tested population, incidental findings and capacity constraints. In this session I will talk through some recent projects YHEC have worked on for NICE, DHSC, NIHR, and MedTech companies. We will illustrate some key challenges and some pragmatic solutions. Ultimately, we will be inviting conversation around the limitations of pragmatic approaches and the importance of ongoing research in these areas.
