The UK-RAS Network has announced five new strategic task groups to lead activities on key areas of interest to the Network. AAIP is delighted to be part of the Skills and Education in Robotics and Autonomous Systems group.

This task group is led by the University of Sheffield, The Open University, and the University of Edinburgh.

Skills and education are essential to the safe introduction and adoption of robotics and autonomous systems. The group will work to:

  • identify gaps, challenges, opportunities and best practices
  • inspire people from diverse backgrounds to explore RAS careers
  • influence public policy

This will be achieved by organising a hackathon, engagement activities, and a national conference. These activities will culminate with the publication of a White Paper on how to close the UK RAS skills gap.
