News | Posted on Thursday 1 February 2024

Calling students! Cook using your leftovers and participate in Love Student Leftovers' Instagram competition. Be in with the chance to win £100!

Take part in a student competition that aims to tackle food wastage. All you need to do is choose one of the following categories, take pictures or film the process of making the dish, and submit your entry using the form at the bottom of this page.

Competition categories

Category 1 - Whole fruit and vegetable & commonly wasted foods: Create a recipe using entire fruit and vegetables (including the peel that you would normally throw away) and commonly wasted foods, and have a chance to win £100.

Category 2 - Rescued and repurposed food: Reuse your leftovers, use food picked up through food rescue apps or "yellow sticker cooking" from reduced sections at the supermarket, and have a chance to win £100.

Category 3 - Throw-it-all-in cooking: You don't need to go shopping again! Get creative and use up what's lurking in the back of your cupboard, fridge and freezer. Throw it all in for a chance to win £100.
