Music presses
The Department of Music at the University of York is associated with two music presses: the
University of York Music Press and the
York Early Music Press. The presses publish music from as early as 1600 to the latest compositions by York composers.
University of York Music Press
The
University of York Music Press, known as
UYMP, was founded in 1995 by David Blake with Bill Colleran. Its purpose is to publish and promote new and established composers with a range of aesthetic backgrounds.

The
York Early Music Press, known as
YEMP, was established in 2001 and provides performing editions of music composed before 1800. Scores are accompanied with specialised information including performance including pitch, forces, pronunciation, context.
