There are a number of printing, copying and scanning facilities within the Library.

York Print Plus is the main self-service printing, copying and scanning service for students and staff. The York Print Plus devices are available in a number of locations in the Library buildings, including:

  • JB Morrell Library (including a wheelchair accessible device on ground floor)
  • Harry Fairhurst Library
  • King's Manor Library

For other locations and more information about York Print Plus, including topping up your account, visit the IT Services webpage:

Digitisation services

The Library offers services to digitise a range of materials:

Students and staff can submit a request for electronic copies from any book larger than A3 that cannot be scanned using the York Print Plus machines.

To submit a request, take your selected book to the Help Desk and complete a request form. There is no charge for this service.

Files will be sent by email or via the University DropOff Service (for large files) within three working days (Monday to Friday). The scanned sections will be delivered as pdf files unless otherwise specified.

The Digitised Archive Resources for Teaching (DART) service aims to provide high quality digital images of original archive material for use in teaching at the University of York. The service will aim to provide digital images within 20 working days of a request being submitted.
