Our graduates

Each year the Department hosts an Alumni Event in the Spring Term, allowing current students to meet and talk with a panel of invited alumni. A presentation is followed by a one-hour panel session with Q&A and a networking session for alumni and both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Our Alumni Events showcase the range of careers that our graduates can aspire to with a degree in Language and Linguistic Science. Participating alumni have worked in the following areas:

"It was great to hear first-hand experience from previous students. Learning about potential careers has made me feel much less worried about the future!"

York profile and Mentors

University of York students have also access to York Profiles & Mentors, a career profiles and mentoring tool created by Careers and Placements and York for Life. Students can use the career profiles to learn more about the world of work, contact our graduates directly with questions, and get an alumni as a mentor.
